RACE RECORDS

Came to be known during the period of the 1920's through about the 1940's when recording companies realized there was much money to be made marketing recordings (by black preachers, musicians and others blessed with these sort of talents) to black people. Any recording a black person made back then was called a "race record."

If you don't already have it, you can get one of the best programs (WINAMP)) for listening to MP3 audio by clicking the WINAMP icon.
